The Lord is speaking to His Bride, His Body in these Last Days about Wellness and Health.

Have you seen the programs with Dr. Don Colbert and others?

The Lord is speaking to His people to prepare, like the Wise Virgins, to be ready for Him.

"The Spirit and The Bride say 'Come, Lord Jesus'" Revelation 22:17

Our Bridegroom King is saying to His Bride, His Church: "You are beautiful, my darling as Tirzah, Lovely as Jerusalem, Majestic as troops with Banners, Turn your eyes from Me, they overwhelm Me" - Song of Songs 6:4-5.

Jesus is in love with His Bride, His Body and He is calling us to make ourselves ready.

Esther was prepared for her King - "for such a time as this" ... She was given 12 months of beauty treatments and special food before meeting her king.

Esther is like a type of the 'Bride of Christ'.

How can we prepare ourselves today for our "soon and coming King?"

How can we do our part to "Arise, shine, for your light has come and the Glory of The Lord is risen upon you" ...? Isaiah 60:!.

We can choose to overcome our 'flesh', learn and change where necessary.

We can prepare spiritually - with the Word, worship, prayer and fasting.

Revelation 19:7 "Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him the Glory, for the wedding of the Lamb has come and His Bride has made herself ready" ...

 

 

 AND we can prepare practically.

There are choices we can make to "prosper and be in health as our soul prospers". 3 John 2.

Now this is for men and women - "There is neither male nor female, Jew nor Greek, all are one in Christ Jesus" - we are all the Body of Christ!

The Bible has much good advice for Health and Diet.

Deuteronomy 8:8 speaks of a good land with water and springs, wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey ...  

There is much in the Press about the Bible diet or 'Mediterranean' diet - it's good for you!

I was in Israel over the Feast of Purim, and the food, in the homes and hotels is very 'healthy', with fresh, raw fruits and veggies, fish, meats and cheeses, and freshly cooked hot dishes.

In the 'West' our diet - and often our lifestyles are not as 'life-giving' as they could be.

Dr. Don Colbert is possibly the best known 'Christian Channel' advocate of Wellness and a healthy lifestyle.

His book, "The Seven Pillars of Health" has been widely advertised ... it's a good book!

Dr. Steve Nugent, the President of the International Association of Complimentary Medicine, has written an excellent book,

"How to Survive on a Toxic Planet"  ... with 75,000 man made chemicals - and water, air and food not in the pristine condition of Bible times ...!

Both books are available on the Internet.

So, what can we, the Bride of Christ, do to 'Spring Clean' our Temples of the Holy Spirit?

 
 
 
Here are some suggestions (with reference to Dr. Don Colbert, Dr. Steve Nugent and other sources) which are vital for wellness and good health:-

1. Water

We need to drink approximately 8 glasses of clean water a day. A huge part of our bodies are water - dehydration is one of the main causes for head and back aches. Water helps to flush 'rubbish' out of our systems.

Filtered water is the best and there is a new technology 'Wellness Water', with carafes available from www.healthleadsuk.com for £49.50. Tap water may contain heavy metals, chemicals, pesticides, microbes, etc.

2. Sleep and Rest

At least 8 hours in a dark room is best. Try to make your bedroom a peaceful place - not a storage unit or workplace. A good mattress and comfortable pillow can really help. Air your bedroom reguarly. Take one day a week to rest ...

3. Exercise

Take daily exercise. We don't all 'go to Gym' but if you are 'well enough' take the stairs instead of the lift or escalator, go for a walk or cycle, swim or dance. Be creative and schedule some exercise every day. Start slowly and gradually build up your activity to a level that's best for you.

4. Weight Loss

Toxins are stored in all body fat - ours, and the fat of the meats and fish that we eat. It is good to reduce our excess fat. Eat Low Glycaemic - www.gkdiet.com . Avoid white sugar and sweeteners - this will help stop food cravings. You can use honey for drinks and cooking.

 5. Detoxification  

Your body is designed to 'take out the rubbish' every day, not once a week. Increase your intake of clean water, alkaline foods and foods with high fibre. Eat organic if possible, eat lean meat and limit your intake of diary. Periodic fasting is one of the most powerful ways to detoxify your body. Indoor plants can help purify the air in your home, choose natural, not chemical household cleaners. Neutraceutical food form Photochemical (plant) food supplements can be beneficial.

6. Coping with stress

Praise, prayer, forgiveness, thankfulness and keeping your sense of humour - with laughter and joy, are great antidotes. Take the time to count your blessings ... daily. We are surrounded by all kinds of stress - emotional, environmental, toxic (the planet has 75,000 man-made chemicals with only a small % tested on humans?). Neutraceutical food form Phytohormones (from plants) can be beneficial.

7. Food

Dr. Steve Nugent says, "If it's safe to eat raw - eat it raw". Choose organic if you can. Buy locally grown fresh fruits and veggies etc. in your back garden, allotment or on your windowsill ... encourage your kids to help! Choose lean meat, and fish that is wild, not farmed, if possible. Cut down or cut out, processed foods/drinks with high salt or sugar, preservatives, nitrates, hydrogenated fats, colours, 'flavourings' or sweetners.

The food in Jesus time was full of nutrition and free of pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals. Today our food is generally nutrionally deficient because of over farming and 'green harvesting', and is given 'greater shelf life' with other 'nasties'. 

 8. Food Supplements.

Your body needs food form (not chemical) nutrition on a daily basis, along with clean water, clean air, praise, prayer, love and hugs!

 
 
 
According to Dr. Steve Nugent, we need:-

Essential Vitamins and minerals to create healthy cells. Phytonutrients to help detoxify the system (plant nutrients). Phytohormones for glandular function (plant hormones). Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) for cell regulation, hormonal function and metabolism. Essential amino acids, which serve as building blocks for all proteins. Antioxidants to protect your cells from oxidative damage. Glyconutrients for cell-to-cell communication and immune support. 

Dr. Nugent says, "Top-quality nutrients are no longer a luxury - they have become a necessity. We cannot possibly eat enough food to get all the nutrients we need to fight the rvages of oxidative stress, the immune-lowering effects of pyschological stress and the harm to our bodies caused by dietary stress".  

Dr. Nugent recommends food form, Neutraceutical food supplements.

So, we have some choices to make ...

Our beloved Lord is calling us higher and deeper into Him - we need to be well for these Last Days. 

Lord, help us to be those who are led by Your Spirit to be Your "Bride who has made herself ready" ... in these Last Days.

Come Lord Jesus!
